    Teaching Opportunity in ESOL Numeracy

    Lecturer in ESOL - Numeracy (Evenings)

    We are seeking a part-time, hourly paid Lecturer to join our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) department. The successful candidate will have the ability and willingness to teach numeracy skills to students with diverse language backgrounds.

    This role requires teaching at various levels across multiple sites and community venues. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality ESOL classes while also undertaking organisational, administrative, and pastoral tasks associated with the position.

    The successful applicant will possess relevant qualifications, including a degree or equivalent in a related subject and a teaching qualification. Holding an ESOL-specific teaching qualification is essential, and significant teaching experience would be advantageous but not necessary for newly qualified teachers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Pedagogic work: lesson preparation, classroom teaching, tutorial support, marking, and administration.
    2. Student assessments to place students, monitor progress, and identify learning needs.
    3. Providing student support to meet academic and welfare needs, ensuring accurate records on College systems.
    4. Organisational and administrative tasks, including team meetings, professional development, staff appraisals, and maintaining teaching-related records.

    Demonstrable Welsh language skills would be beneficial for this role.
