Site Caretaker - Secondary school
We are looking for a proactive Site Caretaker to join an inspirational and thriving secondary school in Havering.

This is a great opportunity to work within a friendly, busy and vibrant school where their main focus is to empower and enable students to achieve.


The Successful Caretaker:


  • To be responsible for the security of the premises and its contents, including key holder responsibilities, involving locking/unlocking entrances, checking and securing windows and internal doors, activating and switching off alarm system, etc.
  • To monitor the school site and buildings, identify remedial work, undertake minor repairs, maintenance and decoration of buildings, internal fixtures and fittings and furniture etc.
  • To ensure that heating and lighting systems and other equipment are working properly. To regulate heating/ventilation as necessary.
  • To allow access to authorised maintenance or building contractors and ensure they are aware of any potential hazards connected with their presence on the premises, having regard to the Health & Safety at Work Act 197
  • To be fully aware of and to comply with the departmental instructions and procedures relating to Health & Safety at Work and to recognise the responsibilities required under the Health & Safety at Work Act 197
  • To undertake porterage and handyperson duties, including moving goods and furniture, minor repairs to property, fixtures, fittings and equipment.
To clean designated areas on and around the school site and ensure that they are kept in a clean and hygieniccondition
This is a long term to permanent
You must have a DBS and be available to start ASAP.
