Creative Producer Children & Families Network Job Description

Licketyspit's Children & Families Network (CFN) is a national online and face-to-face network for families with children under-twelve.

Its purpose is to nurture long-term relationships with families engaging with Licketyspit projects and foster a supportive, inclusive, children's rights-based community.

The CFN is primarily for families living in poverty, who experience isolation and/or trauma.

We work in partnership with schools, nurseries and organisations such as Scottish Refugee Council and Home Start to reach families in the greatest need.

This includes a high proportion of refugees; recent migrants and EAL families; children with additional support needs and single-parent families.


The CFN producer sustains this community and the values behind it by building relationships with families at Licketyspit Storyplay sessions and through online and phone communications, to share resources, ideas, success from sessions e.g.

photos, feedback and reflective drawings; future sessions and external events.
- motivated, capable, outgoing, IT savvy and creative. They must also be committed to a belief in the power of the arts to transform children's lives and support integration and empowerment in communities with high levels of poverty. They must be committed to a person-centred approach, adapting and creating activities through consultation with the CFN families.


  • Main duties and responsibilities

a). Develop and lead on Licketyspit's Children & Families Network using a range of social media and face-to-face approaches, staying abreast of relevant initiatives/projects/funds/organisations and directly engaging with families to develop and sustain Licketyspit projects.

  • Manage session registration and family communications
  • Produce blog posts and website updates
  • Produce social media posts with graphics
  • Produce or codesign flyers, posters and videos, liaising with external contractors where appropriate
  • Attend relevant community events and meetings
  • Design feedback forms and audience engagement sessions for children & parents/carers

b). Identify and seek out opportunities to develop partnerships and raise Licketyspit's profile in the Children & Families Sector, with local and national government, and in the Education, Arts and Refugee Support sectors. You must be able to humanise our work and be a 'social translator' for national and community orgs and stakeholders (e.g. councillors)

  • Attend relevant networking events
  • Write project proposals and meet with partners to develop project ideas
  • Create communications about Licketyspit for professional audiences
  • Contribute to fundraising

c). Co-host Licketyspit family play and social sessions (Porridge & Play, Picnic & Play, Bookplay, LicketyLeap)

  • Confidently chat to children/parents/carers from diverse backgrounds, introducing them to one another
  • Take responsibility for session admin (form filling/photography/GDPR/name stickers/register)
  • Learn names as much as possible
  • Have oversight of the component elements of Licketyspit family sessions (event management) and workcollaboratively with freelance actorpedagogues to ensure all tasks are completed and all participantsincluded
  • Contribute to session evaluation and ensure monitoring is up to date, feeding back to core team when appropriate

d).


Project management under Artistic Director:

- briefing and line managing our freelance Actor Pedagogues and Storyplay Champion volunteers - liaising with partners (e.g. venues, funders, translation services)
- logístical planning and running of events
- managing & delivering on marketing strategy

  • New projects that develop in consultation with families and partners
  • Other duties to support Licketyspit
  • Contribute to the production of company projects and activities in order to develop the Children & Families Network
  • Contribute to Licketyspit events, advocacy, presentations and workshops
  • Contribute to general marketing, maintaining database and producing materials foronline/print.
  • Contribute to company strategic planning
  • Contribute to Fundraising, Evaluation and Reporting
  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Licketyspit website, CFN database, other contactdatabases, Dropbox filing system
  • Contribute to data capture and monitoring
  • Contribute to Licketyspit meetings and processes, including reporting to senior management and Board ofDirectors _(Track your own progress and have overview of daytoday and longterm goals)_
  • Ensure that all activities comply with Licketyspit policy and procedures including Child Protection and EqualOp
