In this role, you will be working in the Enterprise Platform Services (EPS) Management of Change (MoC) team, supporting the Critical Platform Transformation (CPT) Programme.

The Critical Platform Transformation programme is overseeing a significant investment in HMRC's I.T.

infrastructure to meet the challenges of a modern digital tax system, stabilising and underpinning systems that form part of the UK critical national infrastructure.

By doing so this enables the programme to increase HMRC's technical health and provide benefits like increased security, resilience and cost savings - providing value for money to the taxpayer.

Responsibilities

  • You will lead all aspect of planning for high profile technical programmes. You will be responsible for establishing good working practices and will build strong, trusting relationships with your stakeholders. Experience of giving clarity on key milestones to define what, when and how activities will be organised to ensure the outcomes of a project can be achieved, with the resources available
  • You will provide support and guidance in maintaining effective and efficient plans to successfully deliver programme outcomes, ensuring your stakeholders understand how they fit into the programme structure and keep them on target in adhering to programme governance.
  • You will provide quality and actionable information to stakeholders in an often fastpaced environment, responding to demand and timeframes, producing clear and effective plans and associated documentation.
  • You will need to inform, influence, persuade and negotiate with a range of stakeholders. Good communication skills are essential to ensure you convey key messages effectively and listen to and act on feedback.
  • You will challenge and support workstreams to assure that the quality of information, plans and scheduling are accurate and cohesive within the programme governance structure.
  • You will provide support in resolving concerns, highlighting key items for escalation. You will be a key member of the team and will flex to support across the team as needed, contributing, and supporting the 'one team' ethos across workstreams.
  • You will communicate effectively, building trusting relationships ensuring project teams have a clear view of what they need to do and when.

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience of leading technical Programme or Portfolio, particularly working with and collaborating with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading programme planning within a highprofile technical programme and successful programme delivery, including risk management and identification of opportunities.
  • Experience of identifying resourcing requirements, building capabilities within the project planning function and analysing and using performance data for continuous improvement and influencing stakeholders to resolve risks and issues.

Desirable Criteria;

  • Understanding of His Majesty Treasury and National Audit Office
    reviews providing specialist advice and support to ensure successful delivery of project outcomes
  • Knowledge of governance and assurance activity of Government Major Projects Portfolio Infrastructure & Projects
  • Familiarity with Technical (Debt) Health industry applied Plan Address Ignore Defer Model
  • Possess a relevant qualification in Project/Programme Planning such as APM Project Management Qualification or a willingness to wor
