The Head Teacher and Governors of Washingwell Community Primary School are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and inspirational professional to join our teaching team as from September 1st 2024.


We are a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in Whickham, committed to fostering a creative and dynamic learning environment that promotes student growth and a love of learning.

Our dedicated staff works together to support each child in achieving their potential, both academically and socially.

We are seeking a highly effective and talented classroom teacher who:

  • Is innovative, creative and imaginative in their practice.
  • Has a passion for creating an exciting learning environment both indoors and outdoors.
  • Has successful, recent experience of planning, teaching and assessing in the primary age range.
  • Has outstanding classroom management creating a positive learning environment in which all children can succeed.
  • Works positively with parents and families.
  • Is an excellent communicator able to work successfully with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Has high expectations of children's achievements and behaviour.
  • Is flexible and can work collaboratively and successfully within a highly effective team.
  • Is willing to participate in all aspects of school life.
