Part-Time Instructor (After-School Clubs, Evening/Weekend Classes, Home Education Sessions, and Camps)
Job Description:
Engineering for Kids is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Part-Time Instructor.
The role involves delivering engaging and educational STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) lessons to children aged 5-15 in various settings, including after-school clubs, evening/weekend classes, home education sessions, and camps.
Requirements:
- Passion for working with children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate children of various ages and abilities.
- Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Own transport and willingness to travel to different locations as required.
- Previous experience working with children in a teaching or coaching capacity is desirable.
- Background or interest in engineering, robotics, or related fields is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver handson STEM lessons and activities according to the Engineering for Kids curriculum.
- Engage and inspire children to explore the world of engineering, robotics, and technology through fun and interactive learning experiences.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment conducive to creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants during classes and activities.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff members to coordinate lesson plans, materials, and logistics.
- Maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding program updates, student progress, and feedback.
- Assist with the setup and cleanup of equipment and materials before and after each session.
- Attend training sessions, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities as required.
Schedule:
- Parttime hours, including weekdays (afterschool hours), evenings, weekends, and occasional weekdays for home education sessions and camps.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and locations based on program needs.
