Primary School Learning Support Assistant - Walton-on-Thames, Surrey

On behalf of our client primary school, we are on the lookout for a committed and reliable Learning Support Assistant to join their team this Summer term.

In this role, you will work closely with teachers, fellow LSA's and students to provide additional support and assistance to help all students achieve their full potential.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every child feels valued and empowered to succeed.


Responsibilities:


  • Work oneonone or in small groups with students who require additional support with academic tasks, such as reading, writing, and math.
  • Assist students with special educational needs (SEN) in accessing the curriculum and completing classroom assignments.
  • Provide support during classroom activities and help students stay focused and engaged in learning.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills development.
  • Support students with physical disabilities or mobility issues to navigate the school environment and participate in activities.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with SEN.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with teachers and parents/guardians to provide updates on academic and behavioral development.
  • Create and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel respected, supported, and valued.
New Road Education have various opportunities for TA's and LSA's local to you for all levels of experience. TA's and LSA's can be employed in primary, secondary and SEN schools.

The role of a Teaching Assistant is an important one, as they provide vital support to teachers and help to ensure that students receive the best possible education.
