What you'll be doing... Prepare and/or present appeal statements- Maintain accurate records of work- Day to day contact with the Director of Planning- Attend meetings and give advice on planning matters to personnel from other Departments within the Company- Attend site tours will colleagues and advise on Planning constraints and opportunities- Meet with and represent the Company at external meetings with Local Authority planners- Protect the commercial interests of the Company- Constructively negotiate with external bodies to resolve disputesA little bit about you...
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS- Educated to degree standard with a planning qualification.- Membership of or eligibility for RTPI membership- Clean driving licence- Proficient in MS word processing and Works packages
PERSON SPECIFICATION (to include all essential technical skills, core competencies, personal qualities, previous work experience and any other requirements).
- Experience of working within a Planning development control team in either the public or private sectors
- Familiarity with the workings and structure of a local planning authorities
- Able to effectively communicate in writing and orally
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workload with minimum supervision
- Able to adopt and innovative approach to problem solving and conflict resolution
- Commercial awareness
- Ability to negotiate successfully
- Familiar with the control of advertisement regulations and planning legislation and procedures
- Able to work under instruction and unsupervised
- Able to work under pressure to agreed deadlines
- Willingness to work flexibly to achieve work commitments
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
