Join our friendly and professional team Based at The Grange Hotel which enjoys an unrivalled position in the pretty little coastal town of Grange-over-Sands.

This 4-star property with opulent decor, breath-taking panoramic bay views, is only fifteen miles from Lake Windermere, and provides an ideal gateway to the awe-inspiring majesty of the Lake District National Park.

This is a travelling role working within the hotel group. Travelling around the UK to our amazing properties and being part of the hotel brands developement.


As the Maintenance Assistant, your role will be to ensure excellent maintenance of the buildings, infrastructure and the overall appearance of our hotels whilst working directly with our maintenance manager.

Your role comprises overall maintenance and upkeep of the hotel building's infrastructure and exterior.

Wage £ £13 Per hour dependent on experience


Your role:

  • Respond and attend to repair requests.
  • To prioritise and organise work assignments.
  • To work under pressure situations and exercise good judgements.
  • To maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.
  • To ensure security of guest room access and hotel property.
  • Preform maintenance activities in the guest room & public & staff areas like painting, repairing walls, plunging toilets, and unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, electrical equipment including lamps.
  • Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.
  • To clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel.
  • To be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.
  • Performs other duties assigned by Maintenance Manager.
  • Train and instruct other members of the staff through sharing of knowledge and skills.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
  • Communicate, order & facilitate any work require to be done by outside contractor or supplier. Check for new maintenance requests from maintenance book and update remarks once the task is completed.
  • Inspect hotels regularly to ensure it meets safety standards.
  • Arrange for routine maintenance in hotel rooms, lobbies and all other facilities.
  • Organise repair projects in a manner that does not disturb guests.
  • Health and safety management.
  • Follow all existing S.O.P.'s.
  • Use our expertise to improve, enhance services and add value to the guest experience.
  • Actively and positively engage with colleagues, guests and our service providers to ensure a seamless service experience is created.
  • Take ownership and responsibility ensuring you are working effectively.
  • Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence.
  • Participates in regular departmental meetings and continually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding goals to produce desired results.
