About the opportunity:

We are currently looking for a permanent
Resource Supervisor to join our growing Resource department covering the Midlands region.


As an
Resource Supervisor, you will be to oversee all Craft Teams, General Contractors and Subcontractors conducting work for the resources department on behalf of UKPS.

All work crews and individuals on site will take their direction from the site supervisor, who is responsible for knowing what work must be done and ensuring it is completed to UKPS required standards of quality

Your responsibilities:


  • Provide the initial point of contact to craft teams for all technical, material and administrative matters
  • Liaise with the scheduling team to ensure craft teams are deployed in the most effective way
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner and efficiency opportunities are exploited
  • Instil a can do, customer focussed attitude into all craft teams
  • Demonstrate, implement and enforce high standards of workmanship and safety in all areas
- this includes the work of sub
- contractors employed to undertake work on behalf of UKPS

  • Troubleshoot and identify problems; offer timely and safe solutions.
  • Assess the competency of individuals and recommend them for submission of Proposal for authorisation by the Authorising Officer.
  • Conduct frequent audits on craft teams to assure high standards of work and equipment maintenance
- conduct remedial action if required

  • Maintain the authorisations matrix for all craft teams in your remit
  • Carry out accident or incident investigations and produce a full report outlining the root causes and learning points, together with actions that need to be taken to prevent a reoccurrence.

About you

Experience / Knowledge:


  • Craft skills and experience
- water and gas


Attributes:


  • A selfstarter who works on their own initiative
  • Demonstrate leadership and technical knowledge in handling complex installation procedures
  • Willing to learn and develop both personally and technically
  • Strong communication skills
- ability to convey information to a variety of audiences

  • Attention to detail and an eye for opportunity/possible system, procedural improvement
  • Driving licence
  • Daily site visits are required
  • Ability to conduct infrequent overnight stays if required
