About this role

The Core Portfolio Management team in MASS is responsible for a wide array of portfolio management activities across both multi-asset and sustainable equity mandates.

The team is made up of 51 portfolio managers organised globally with strong regional alignmentto reflect different investing centres of expertise.

In London, the team partners with the Solutions, Models, Diversified Strategies and Sustainable Investing teams in managing global, multi-asset and equity portfolios held by institutional and individualretail investors.

The Core PM team works with client CIOs, model managers and researchers on portfolio construction and new business design, contributes to investment research, handles implementation, and drives improvements across the PM operating platform.

Key responsibilities

Working as a member of the London based Core PM team you will be responsible for building and managing custom multi-asset portfolios in close partnership with client CIOs, researchers and model managers.


You will have a particular focus on:

  • Designing, constructing and managing institutional client portfolios
  • Leading daily portfolio management tasks including implementing multiple investment strategies, handling client flows, FX hedging, rebalancing, and monitoring positioning, performance and risk
  • Ensuring all mandates conform to performance expectations, investment guidelines including derisking frameworks, risk parameters, and regulatory requirements
  • Innovating in the way we use data and technology in our portfolio management and investment decisionmaking processes
  • Building scale & automation across the team through the development of automated portfolio management workflows & analytics that use Aladdin's core data and analytics engines
  • Contributing to research and establishing good governance and common methodologies in portfolio construction & implementation across multiple investment processes and products
  • Partnering with the Global TAA research team to source tactical trade ideas within scope of the investment guidelines, sizing based on the risk budget as agreed with CIO and implementing with Global Trading.
Experience / Qualifications

  • 1 to 5 years of proven experience in portfolio management, pensions, risk, analytics or equivalent roles with demonstrated passion for investing
  • Understanding of quantitative investment and/or portfolio construction research and portfolio management
  • Direct experience in a variety of instruments and markets such as ETFs and other fund vehicles, derivatives, FX, rates, equities and credit markets (options, IRS, CDS, etc. is a plus)
  • Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to remain focused across a wide range of portfolio types and activities.
  • Technical skills including Python, Tableau and SQL preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills, with evidence of ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative, global environment
