Your Role:


You will be supporting our Specialist Financial Advisers by answering queries, helping formulate the client solution including how to document this in a compliant client file and completing calculations to support the provision of accurate financial advice.


The role will require you to update and approve technical factsheets, marketing material, sales documentation and training materials as well as support with the ongoing maintenance and development of a suite of calculators used in the advice process.


What you'll be doing:


  • Support the business by providing technical sign off on advice related to Financial Promotions, Presentation material, Website material, Training and Relevant complaints calculations
  • Managing technical queries from financial advisers and wider business
  • Maintaining in depth knowledge of taxation, regulation, products and core clients pension schemes so queries can be resolved efficiently
  • Guiding Financial Advisers in determining correct advice and creating a compliant client file
  • Provision of a support function to Financial Adviser queries and calculations
  • Completion of unusual and technically complex calculations which can't be supported by our calculation engines
  • Review and sign off for calculations completed by less experienced and knowledgeable colleagues
  • Provide a quality assurance function for calculations completed by Financial Advisers, Paraplanning and the wider teams
  • Support with the design and documentation of calculations including those integrated into CRM/POS, Third Party developed and inhouse standalone
  • Engage with developers including third party developers (such as CTC and EValue) to ensure enhancements to calculators are completed accurately and cost effectively
  • Test changes to calculators to ensure they maintain accuracy and currency

We're looking for:


  • Qualified to Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent
  • Good understanding of financial products, legislation, taxation and regulations
  • Knowledge of defined benefits pension schemes and the NHS pension scheme and teachers pension schemes
  • Demonstrable record in building effective relationships
  • Strong Excel skills allowing creation of spreadsheets to complete clients personalised calculations
  • Excellent numeracy skills and comfortable making complex and timeconsuming calculations based on individuals' circumstances
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the business
  • Able to work well as part of a team and accept a shared responsibility for colleagues' workloads, to ensure that workload imbalances are managed effectively and do not impact negatively on customer service
  • To be flexible and prepared to support other teams within the department with activities such as case checking and paraplanning when need arises
  • The ability to work independently and be self motivated

The financials on offer:


  • Annual salary of circa £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience), reviewed annually
  • Annual Performance based Bonus
