GSL Education is currently looking for a well-qualified
SEN teaching assistant for an outstanding secondary school in East London. This is a full time role starting ASAP. If you have understanding of SEND and are a calm, friendly and creative individual who wants to make a positive difference in students' lives, this is a perfect role for you
As such, the school is looking for a SEN TA who will be dynamic in the classroom and who also possesses the ability to differentiate the work to a range of ability levels.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant Job Responsibilities:
- To work under the instruction/guidance of the SENDCo and other teaching/senior staff, within an agreed system of supervision to complement the professional work of teachers by supporting the learning of pupils with SEND.
- To assist in meeting the needs of students who require specialized input to overcome learning barriers.
- To provide learning support for pupils in class or in 1:1 situations
- Work with teachers in lesson planning, evaluating and appropriately differentiating curriculum materials and approaches.
- Giving the teacher and SENDCo feedback and reports on the students' performance, progress, and other matters as needed while ensuring the availability of relevant evidence
- Be working alongside teachers and supporting students aged from 16 to 1
- Be working with students with autism, Asperger and challenging behaviour.
- Have previous experience working within a secondary school special needs.
- Be a confident, outgoing and personable individual with a passion for helping people.
