Leeds East Academy is an over-subscribed 11-16 academy that has recently achieved the title of UK Parliament School of the Year.

Role:


Please note that this job description should be read in conjunction with the National Core Standards for Teachers for main-scale post holders and the post-threshold standards where applicable or the non-teaching equivalent incorporating academy standards.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • To manage the day to day running of the Reflective Learning Centre (RLC) to ensure all students have access to purposeful learning and bespoke packages of intervention
  • Quality assure work provided to students in the RLC, and work with curriculum leaders to ensure work provided is suitable for specific students in the RLC
  • To ensure the Positive Behaviour Policy is adhered to in the RLC
  • To undertake comprehensive assessments of students to determine those in need of particular support and personalised interventions
  • Provide opportunities for students to reflect on their behaviour to equip students with the knowledge to make positive choices in the future
  • Manage the reintegration packages for students returning from planned interventions and suspensions
  • Oversee the paperwork for external incoming students placed on a planned intervention in the academ
  • Liaise with the SENCO regarding students who require additional behaviour support and have SEND needs
  • Use specialist knowledge and/or experience to be responsible for the preparation of plans, resources and equipment to support students with identified behavioural needs
  • To work with the Behaviour Modification Leader to ensure the delivery of behaviour modification across the academy is purposeful and appropriate for specific cohorts
  • To oversee a 'case load' of students who access the Personalised Learning Centre PLC)
  • To ensure the attendance of students who access the PLC is of a high standard and support with parental meeting and home visits of students who access the PLC
  • To deliver high quality intervention in the PLC
  • To support the Behaviour Modification Leader in conducting 'review days' for students who attend the PLC
  • To support students reintegrate back in to the mainstream provision within the academy
