We are a fast-growing payments firm based in London, UK that provides innovative payment and electronic money solutions to clients worldwide and is registered with the FCA as an electronic money institution.
Our firm is committed to maintaining the highest level of ethical and regulatory standards, and we are looking for a Chief Compliance Officer to join our team.
The Chief Compliance Officer will be responsible for overseeing the company's compliance programme and ensuring that the firm adheres to all relevant laws and regulations, including data protection and privacy.
They will work closely with the MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) to ensure the company's anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing policies are adequate and effective.
Additionally, the Chief Compliance Officer will be responsible for managing a team of compliance professionals, conducting regular risk assessments, and developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the compliance function (including Data Protection/Privacy compliance) to ensure that the business operates in line with all relevant company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's compliance policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Oversee the company's compliance programme, including risk assessments, monitoring, and testing
- Work with the MLRO to ensure the company's antimoney laundering and counterterrorist financing policies are effective and comply with all relevant laws and regulations
- Keep up to date with changes to regulations and industry standards, and communicate any changes to relevant stakeholders
- Advise senior management on compliance matters and escalate any issues to the board as necessary
- Provide expert opinion, advice & training on compliance related topics, policies & procedures.
- Manage and develop a team of compliance professionals
- Conduct compliance training for employees to ensure understanding and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a compliance role within the financial services industry
- Strong understanding of UK and EU financial services regulations, including antimoney laundering and counterterrorist financing laws
- Experience managing a team of compliance professionals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Proven ability to develop and implement compliance policies and procedures
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
- Relevant professional qualifications, such as the International Compliance Association Diploma in Compliance, are desirable but not essential.
The Chief Compliance Officer will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the MLRO to ensure that the company's compliance programme is effective and up to date.

Up to £130,000.00 per year
