A)


The Drilling Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the management of all works associated with delivering the assigned area to a final stage.


The position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of the Worley Production Shaft, Service Shaft & remediation drilling with Rig50 scopes in a safe manner, with minimum effect on the environment and the local communities, ensuring it is delivered to the highest quality standards and ensuring the management of the project schedules including ensuring mitigation plans are in place to offset any schedule slippage.


The Drilling Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the management of all relationships including the interfaces with all pertinent contractors & stakeholders and ensuring all necessary permits are in place for the required works and having an awareness of the related risks.


B) Specific Roles & Responsibilities**- Support and assist the Worley Construction Manager responsible for the Shafts

  • Provide Project leadership for Sinking and Lining of Shafts to ensure delivery of the project on time and to required quality standards
  • Implement and monitor the construction delivery strategy including continuous improvement and engagement of owners groups with the contracting partners
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to drive a culture of collaboration, participation and improvement
  • Actively support the engineering, operational readiness, construction and commissioning scope delivery
  • Participate and conduct performance management reviews with the discipline leads.
  • Promote and adhere to the project Safety Management System
  • Ensure the PTW work system process is followed by the team and Contractors, including Method statement and Task Risk Analysis review (PTW Process map).
  • Detailed involvement in High-Risk activities
  • Accountable for productivity and quality targets established for the scope of work within area of responsibility.
  • Troubleshoot any constructability issues regarding engineering, material shortages etc.
  • Coordinate between the contractors and disciplines to ensure smooth interface management
  • Follow the Management of Change process.
  • Follow the Site Query process and provide construction input if required.
  • Perform worksite inspections monitoring safety and quality of work.
  • Attend and participate daily in Production and Construction meetings to ensure progress is being communicated across the project.
  • Meet daily with various departments including materials and equipment to arrange and ensure timely pickup or delivery of materials/equipment needed for the construction of the project.
  • Ensure any appropriate overtime approvals have been requested and approved prior to performing overtime.
  • Ensure weekly progress reports have been submitted and signed.
  • Understand and execute all aspects of a comprehensive safety program as it relates to supervision of direct force labor for pipeline installation
  • Interface with QA/QC personnel to address quality issues/progress
  • Ensure compliance with specifications, procedures, and plans
  • Monitor workforce productivity and progress relative to schedule
  • Interface with Project Controls for field level changes, e.g., scope, costs, etc.
  • Participate Quality Audits and other site surveillance activities

B) Person Specifications - Qualifications and Key Skills**Essential:


  • Minimum of 10 years' experience required in construction projects with a further of 5 years as Construction Superintendent for major projects.
  • Advanced written and spoken English
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Competency in written/oral communication
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Understanding of project phases and sinking management
  • Advanced understanding of shaft sinking methodologies
  • Sound understanding of shaft sinking specific risks and how to mitigate these
  • Understanding both equipment and human resource capability and productivities
  • Ability to manage and lead a diverse team
  • Ability to manage conflict between contractors and supervisors
