Description

The Colorectal Faster Diagnosis Hub provides a fast track referral route for patients seen in primary care with symptoms suspicious of colorectal cancer.

The Hub aims to speed up diagnosis and to improve overall patient experience.

The post holder will be directly involved in the co-ordination of colorectal cancer referrals.

The service is operational Monday to Friday with an office base in Yeovil District Hospital. This role is for 37.5 hrs per week.

A Secondment will also be available for internal applicants.


The post holder is to provide comprehensive administrative & secretarial services including telephone duties, typing (including audio), filing, dealing with and prioritising incoming and outgoing mail.


You will be contacting patients, arranging and following up appointments, chasing blood results with GP's, ordering of goods, completing patient template letters, posting FIT tests to patients and general assistance in the co-ordination of the team office.

The role is carrying out these duties for the Colorectal Faster Diagnosis Nurses and the Somerset Colorectal Hub Navigators.
