Job Purpose:


The High Pressure Maintenance Specialist will deliver safe, high quality, efficient and cost effective critical spares refurbishment, machines work and high-pressure maintenance and assurance in support of Teesside manufacturing, with a specific focus on LDPE and its bespoke high-pressure equipment requirements.


Responsibilities:


  • The delivery of timely, high quality refurbishment activities within the S18 refurbishment workshop facility to meet the operational and risk reduction needs of S18 plant and wider Teesside assets.
  • Maintain the quality standards for materials being dispatched or received via the critical spares refurbishment loop (issue and receipt inspections), ensuring any nonconformance or poor standards are highlighted to Line Management.
  • The delivery of quality control and assurance leadership, as defined by the Area Maintenance Engineer, is support of plant reliability (including during planned and unplanned outages such as MWOs, pitstops and breakdowns) for tasks being delivered by SABIC and contracted resources, acting in a 'Task Owner' role.
  • Act as the custodian of technical and engineering standards and be responsible for quality sign off for such items as; critical dimensional checks & hold points, Cleanliness and QAQC standards.
  • Support reactive breakdown recovery and out of hours working, either as team lead, technical lead or delivery technician supporting the repairs.
  • Act as a Joint Making Authority as defined with SABIC Management Procedure and deliver the required leadership and support to teams making high pressure joints in the field. Ensuring technical standards are met and integrity of pressure envelope maintained. (Lens Ring, Autoclave, Tech Lok, Grey Lok, etc ).
  • The delivery of specific tasks on the plants as part of wider work delivery where their specialist knowledge and capability is required to complete the activity timely and to the correct quality, as defined by the Area Maintenance Engineer.
  • Complete all training and validation to maintain competent machining capability (CNC Lathe, milling machine, honing tables) to facilitate the whole task completion of refurbishment and plant activities. The incumbent must demonstrate flexibility to providie their skill as operationally needed, inside and outside of normal working hours.
  • Ensure maintenance records are kept up to date correctly during delivery of work with key parameters accurately recorded in quality documentation at all times (quality build plans, joint making proforma, quality inspections ).
  • Competently operate the sites CMMS (SAP) in the delivery of the activities they are responsible for, including but not limited to; Identify and order materials, engage with 3rd parties to identify materials, maintain work progress, create and complete SAP tasks. Use the site HHD and other technologies to complete allocated tasks efficiently.
  • Be a qualified and current Work Control Permit Acceptor to facilitate work delivery under their control. Complete an appropriate risk assessment as part of a planned activity and at the point of work, prior to starting the task stage.
  • To hold a FLT license (specifically all types in service on LDPE) and have completed required training for rigging and lifting using the installed cranes, including manual handling to facilitate whole task completion.
  • Support the technical and maintenance engineering team in the development and updating of maintenance procedure.
  • Identify and propose changes to working practices, materials and facilities in order to continually improve the safety, quality and cost effectiveness of the maintenance service.
  • Have an understanding of the whole High Pressure Maintenance team's operation and be able to deputise for the FLM if required.

  • Demonstrate the ability to understand QA/QC standards and have the aptitude to influence others to maintain these standards.
  • Ability and willingness to fully engage with SABIC systems (SAP, MS Office, DRS, Hand Held Device ) in the delivery of the role, ensuring records are kept up to date.
  • Ability and willingness to deliver the standards and documentation required by management procedures and policies, taking personal accountability for producing auditable records and documentation of their work activities.
  • Have or are willing to gain relevant competency, skills, licenses and approvals to fulfil all of the role accountabilities.
