Academic Student Services Lead (Safeguarding, Timetabling & Programme Management) for their Higher Education creative client based in London.


The official title for this role is a
Student & Academic Services Supervisor, this role will be managing process such as leading on Safeguarding for the university and timetabling for Courses/Programmes, so all runs effectively with the Academic and Student Services areas.


The
Student & Academic Services Supervisor is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective support services within all relevant areas of Student & Academic Services Department.

The post-holder leads the department by providing oversight of all relevant programs and service lines and works closely with peers across the system to coordinate and standardize services within the department.

The Student Services Supervisor offers support and guidance to faculty on issues relating to Student Services and liaises with other departments to coordinate various student life initiatives.

This role involves deputising for the Designated Safeguarding Lead, taking on responsibilities for safeguarding within the institution to promote the welfare of all students.

The post-holder coordinates with other school directorates to develop, implement and enhance student services functions across the system.


Key purpose of the role; Student Services (Safeguarding & Programme Management)

Course / Programme Management, Timetabling, Safeguarding Lead, Faculty Support, Student Activity & Events Management

  • Responsible for coordination, development, implementation, and evaluation of a variety of programs and services that support international student success;
  • Promote student activities using variety of technologies (School brand guidelines);
  • Make day to day decisions concerning students, requiring evaluation of a range of options, providing accurate, up to date and comprehensive information or referral to alternative sources of assistance;
  • Provide guidance to the students in terms of support to the school's procedures (student handbook, rules etc.), exams' grading and attendance requirements;
  • Formulate departmental, goals, objectives and priorities; ensures the efficient utilisation of allocated resources;
  • Manage special events at the school as required (e.g. welcome week agenda and activities, graduation ceremonies, etc.);
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and interpretation of nonacademic policies and procedures within the school;
  • Conducts meetings with Programme Leaders and school management to further discuss student related issues;
  • Manages special events at the school as required;
  • Ensures the efficient utilization of allocated resources and the effective implementation of day to day operations;
  • Oversees and follows up the major counselling issues requiring management involvement and Special Needs services;
  • Coordinates with the management in case of student and school related emergencies;
  • Responds to and manage safeguarding concerns or incidents, coordinating with external agencies as necessary and ensuring a timely and appropriate response.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of the school's safeguarding policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with legal and statutory requirements related to child protection and safeguarding.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in the field by engaging in professional development activities and by networking with local industry;
  • Promotes industry trends, developments, and research findings externally to the community and internally;
  • Provide general support to Student and Academic Services department with ongoing duties (attendance checks, student voice, assessment preparation etc.).

  • Proficient in IT skills, particularly in working with spreadsheets, data, and student record systems.
  • Ability to utilize data to generate reports and analyze results effectively.

This is a Permanent hybrid role, 3days office, 2days remote in London. The salary on offer is between £33,000 - £35,000 DOE + Benefits. The proposed start date for this role will be at the start of May 2024 and you should currently live within a c
