SEN Teaching Assistant

Between £90 - £110 per day

We are actively seeking dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistants to join various schools in Welwyn Garden City. The role entails supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) to enhance their learning experiences and academic achievements.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide tailored support to students with diverse SEN, both in classroom settings and through oneonone interactions.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
  • Work closely with the teaching staff, SENCO, and other professionals to promote an inclusive learning environment.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and encourage student engagement through effective support strategies.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and families to ensure a cohesive approach to education and care.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience in working with children, especially those with special educational needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Resilience and patience to navigate daily challenges in an SEN setting.
  • Relevant educational qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, are desirable.
  • A current Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
