We are seeking to appoint an experienced and skilled Funding Support and Monitoring Officer to join our External Funding team within the Council's Financial Management service.


Working alongside Sunderland colleagues, and a range of local partners, Sunderland City Council is excited to create this new role to support the strategic management and monitoring of millions of pounds of investment to the city.


Reporting to the Principal Funding and Commercial Officer, the postholder will provide funding and monitoring support to the Council's external funding team ensuring that programme and project compliance requirements continue to be met.


You will be part of a team responsible for managing and monitoring a range of public funds, including the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and other Government and external funding programmes.


This will be a key role, providing advice and guidance on external funding requirements, and ensuring that programmes and projects are developed, delivered and monitored in line with Sunderland's strategic priorities and funding terms and conditions.


The postholder will also provide wider support to the External Funding team including budget monitoring, undertaking project appraisals, reviewing and processing project and programme claims, and monitoring key performance indicators.


Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to foster productive and inclusive working relationships within the External Funding team, Financial Management service, the wider Council and with partners.


You will be joining an External Funding team that is well regarded internally and externally, and a Council with a renewed focus to lead the city forward.

Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 27 months


Salary:
£37,261.00-£41,496.00 per year
