Key role and responsibilities:

Please Note:

This role is for someone keen to develop their career in artworking - it's not a route to becoming a greeting card or print/pattern designer.

  • Design and/or set up and ultimately 'owning' accurate artwork for print
  • Understand CMYK and spot colour printing (essential)
  • Have familiarity with special finishes, cutter guides and 3D packaging, even if from an unrelated industry. Image retouching skills in Photoshop would also be a bonus.
  • Interpret different brand guidelines with skill and intelligence

Other responsibilities will include (with training where required):

  • Image manipulation, colour-correction and retouching
  • Making digital visuals of product
  • Physical mockups to test guides and cutters

Dependent upon skills and experience, further opportunities will arise within the studio including:

  • Helping develop compelling presentations for key customers and brands
  • Creating graphics, animations and banners for web and social media
  • Product photography using a small studio setup
  • Concept generation and new product development to briefs
  • Picture library research for ranges and to specific briefs
  • Contributing to other design projects as or when they arise across the business

Core skills and attributes are:

  • Fluent in InDesign and Illustrator
  • Solid skills in Photoshop
  • A willingness to keep learning new skills and software to add to the team's ability
  • Understanding of design for print, print process, special finishes, cutter guides etc.
  • Ability to work intelligently and accurately with brand guidelines
  • A clear understanding of design, composition and imagemaking
  • Ability to selfmanage work whilst working as part of a wider team
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • A willingness to get handson and grow within a dynamic studio and company

In summary:

We offer a friendly and rewarding small team environment and the chance to work with inspiring imagery and brands. The studio and business is very down-to-earth and all about producing the best we can as a team.

We don't do daft hours but we do work hard each day. Our customers and licensors expect quality in everything we do, and we aspire to meet and exceed expectations. We hope you will do the same.

The studio is within walking distance of Frome's vibrant town centre, with a café and shops. Bath is approximately 13 miles away.
