North Level I.D.B.'s statutory role is to provide flood risk management duties to the communities living and working within the Board's area.
The Board manages over 630km of predominantly open watercourses and 12 pumping stations, together with various water level management structures.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Rating Officer / Administrator to join our existing team based in Thorney, Peterborough, PE6 0QE.
The role of Rating Officer is pivotal to the day to day running of North Level and is both an interesting and diverse role.
**Job Description:- *
- Running the rate on an annual basis following preparation of the annual estimates.
- Day to day management of the Rating System.
- Transferring land between ratepayer's accounts and liaising with the ratepayers to advice of movements.
- Preparation of maps.
- Posting incoming rates, providing refunds, updating the Finance Officer with rates income on a regular basis.
- Issuing Notices to the relevant Councils advising of their special levy payments.
- Working closely with the engineers to transfer land to special levy as and when required.
- Site visits as and when required to assess land.
- Maintaining a mapping system, with the assistance of the Technical Engineer.
You will be responsible for updating this database and preparing Farm Business Tenancies with the assistance of a Land Agent.
These are the main duties of this role, but are not exhaustive. You may, from time to time, be requested to carry out other duties relating to finance, engineering or administration.Knowledge of Sage and DRS would be advantageous but full training will be provided.
