Progress Teachers are working with a
mainstream secondary school, who are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced
Assistant SENCo to enhance the provision for students with Special Educational Needs
(SEN).


As an Assistant SENCo, you will work closely with the Executive SENCo to ensure the effective coordination and delivery of special education provision across the school.

You will play a key role in supporting the inclusion of students with additional needs, working collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the identification, assessment, and monitoring of students with special educational needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Provide guidance and support to teaching staff in adapting curriculum materials for students with additional needs.
  • Liaise with parents, external agencies, and other professionals to enhance the support network for students.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of staff training on SENrelated topics.
  • Deliver targeted intervention sessions as required to specific groups of students.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working in a secondary school setting.
  • Additional qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Inclusion (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of SEN legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

Pay:
£24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
