Description
We are looking for new highly motivated Patient Care Advisors (Medical Receptionists) to join our friendly and hardworking team.


You will join the practice team consisting of 4 Patient Care Advisors, Clinical PA, 4 GPs, Practice Nurse, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Mental Health Nurse, Healthcare Assistant, Community Link Worker, Pharmacist and our Practice Manager.

We work in a modern, bright and purpose built health centre. The post is for 18/20 hours and must include working on a Friday. The practice opening hours are 8am to 6pm with occasional extended hours cover needed between 7:30am and 6:30pm.

PERSON SPECIFICATION / CRITERIA


Customer service focused - Excellent communication - Team player - Hard working - Motivated - Enthusiastic - Able to communicate with a variety of different people, patients, internal and external colleagues and staff.

- The ability to stay calm under pressure - Dealing with difficult situations - Confidentiality - Good organisational and communication skills - Lone working for short periods - Minimum 3 standard grades including - English and Maths or can demonstrate equivalent experience - Occasionally managing anti-social behaviour and/or verbal abuse

  • Customer service experience
  • Good level of computer skills/well developed keyboard skills
  • Administration qualification (desirable)
  • GP Practice experience or experience in a similar role or NHS setting (desirable)
  • Previous experience in reception duties (desirable)
  • Experience of working within a GP surgery/Healthcare Industry (desirable)
  • Use of Vision and Docman systems (desirable) We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who enjoys team working and is comfortable with working within the community. You must have good computer skills and experience with Microsoft packages is desirable. Our clinical system is Vision. This is a fast paced and energetic role and you must be willing to learn on the job. Niddrie Medical Practice is a forward thinking practice and we encourage contributions towards improving the service we provide to our patients and towards making our systems as efficient as possible. Experience in healthcare and our clinical system would be an advantage but not essential as training and support will be provided.
