Salford Cares are setting up a new autism specialist service in the Little Hulton area of Salford and are looking for highly motivated and committed individuals to be part of our staff team.

We are looking to recruit a team of Autism Practitioner Waking Night Staff to facilitate the delivery of high quality, compassionate care.

About the Autism Practitioner role:

As an Autism Practitioner you will be supporting people in their own homes. The people identified for this service have a range of needs including learning disability, autism, and mental health needs. Individuals may also have significant physical health and personal care needs and may present with behaviours that challenge services.


The service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and full time you will work 37.5 hours each week (pro rata for part time positions), on a rota which includes weekends.


Responsibilities:


  • Working with people with varied needs
  • Helping people live more independently and undertake life enhancing activities.
  • Ensure people's needs are at the heart of everything you do.
  • Working with care managers and health colleagues to implement and support Positive behaviour support & therapy plans.
  • Personal Care as required.
  • Partnership working
  • Supporting people during the night with any assistance they may require.
  • Keep relevant and uptodate records of the support provided.

Experience and skills required:


  • Must have previous experience supporting adults with learning disabilities & autism.
  • Experience of positive behaviour support (PBS) and the benefits of this when supporting individuals who present with behaviours that challenge services (Desirable)
  • Be able to develop supportive relationships, promoting independence and wellbeing.
  • Good IT skills as systems form an integral part of the Autism Practitioner role.
  • You will be highly motivated to deliver outstanding care and support.
