PitchBook's 2024 Data Operations Summer Intern will work to ensure that the data being utilized in the PitchBook platform is comprehensive, accurate, and timely.

A Data Operations Intern will use our in-house developed Research Tool Suite (RTS), Excel, and other tools to help the team ensure our data meets high quality standards while continually increasing the efficiency, productivity, and quality.

An Intern will work with teams across the Data Operations department, including secondary and primary research, sourcing operations, and project management.

Our Summer Internship is full-time program (40 hours per week) running from June - August 2024.


Primary Job Responsibilities:


  • Research events and information pertaining to the private equity and venture capital industries (e.g., details on deals, acquired companies, company sites, and investment firms)
  • Gather and verify information through web research and manage the information in our research database
  • Leverage our inhouse database, business intelligence reports, and other technologybased tools to ensure that proprietary data is audited and added to the PitchBook Platform efficiently
  • Learn and develop research tracking methodologies to ensure that data is of the utmost quality
  • Regularly collaborate with other data operations team members to learn about different datasets and help with various data quality initiatives
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with your team and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, address roadblocks, and celebrate wins
  • Participate in a Career Readiness program to develop fundamental skills important for earlycareer employees
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Skills and Qualifications:


  • You enjoy working with numbers and large quantities of data
  • You appreciate wellthoughtout processes, while also taking initiative and improving them further
  • You love to work with a team, but can also work independently
  • You're an amazing communicator, both verbally and in your written materials
  • You would describe yourself as detail oriented, curious, and innovative in your work
  • You have an interest in the private equity, venture capital, and M&A industries
  • You might be in the process of getting your university degree, perhaps with a focus in the fields of finance and/or economics
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, from June-August 202
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including indepth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily

Working Conditions:

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
