High Achieving Secondary School in Brent - September 2023 start date - Full Time, Long Term Contract - Ideal role for Food Science / Nutrition Graduates - £75 - £85 per day based on experience and qualifications

Are you a recent Food Science or Nutrition Graduate? Or are you a professional individual with a strong knowledge of food, food safety and hygiene, seeking an opportunity to utilise your skills and knowledge in a supportive, creative environment?


Tradewind Recruitment is working with an Ofsted Outstanding Secondary School in Brent who are seeking a Food Technician to join their DT Department.

This is a full time, long term opportunity that will commence immediately and run until the end of the academic year in the first instance.

  • Open to recent Food Science / Nutrition Graduates or experienced Food Technicians

The Role - Food Technician - Brent, North West London

  • Working as part of the Design and Technology Team, this role will see you providing technical support service to Design Technology teachers, with a particular, but not exclusive, emphasis on Food Preparation & Nutrition
  • You will Adhere to Kashrut dietary laws dealing with the foods that Jews are permitted to eat and how those foods must be prepared according to Jewish law (training will be given)
  • Place and progress orders and ensure that appropriate stock levels of ingredients are maintained and monitored
  • Monitor and evaluate health and safety of the working environment and ensure the maintenance of Food facilities, liaising with the site team as appropriate
  • Ensure that the requirements of practical lessons are met, including preparing ingredients, setting up and testing materials and equipment
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to teachers and students. Assist in practical classes, as appropriate and on occasion, carry out demonstrations alongside the Food teacher
  • A degree within this discipline would be ideal but not essential
  • You will be an organised individual who works well both individually and within a team setting
  • You will be able to follow instruction and adhere to strict deadlines
  • You will have excellent communication skills and be passionate about education
