Estimator


We are looking for an Estimator who will form part of a motivated and passionate team to support the tendering activities for major environmental projects across a variety of habitats in the UK.

Projects include river restoration, fish passages, ecologicalmitigation and wetland creation works from concept through to implementation.


The role will be varied and will include but not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Attend site visits.
  • Review SOW, interpret technical drawings and clarify client requirements.
  • Produce detailed costings for construction, including assumptions, risk, and opportunity awareness.
  • Initial review of contract requirements
  • Compiling and producing high quality tender documentation in conjunction with Technical Director.
  • Ensure delivery of full bid submissions within specified deadlines
  • Proactively deal with post bid submission clarifications
  • Interaction with clients at meetings via Teams or in person.
  • Supporting the wider bids team with tendering for a diverse programme of project work.
  • Attend team and company meetings.
  • General bid administration

  • Work efficiency (managing multiple enquiries, overtime requests, maximising time prior to deadline)
  • Effectiveness (time management, prioritisation, meeting/ managing deadlines, understanding own productivity)
  • Quality (Bid feedback, Peer feedback, following company and team processes)
  • Goalbased (1:1 goal setting, teambased metrics, competency matrix, learning and development)
  • Attitude (commitment, collaboration, initiative, support)

Person specification

  • Minimum two years' Estimating experience.
  • Strong IT skills including being proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products especially Word, Excel, and Project
  • Good attention to detail and methodical approach to work
  • Highly organised, motivated, and able to prioritise and plan own workload in line with strict deadlines.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, clients, and officebased staff.
  • Ability to work in a highpressured environment.
  • Numerically and analytically minded.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • NEC contract knowledge would be an advantage.

  • Salary will be dependent on experience.
  • Based out of Head office in Thruxton or Homebased
