Fast Moving Car retail company are seeking a Transport Manager to join them to help them grow their existing group logistics by moving C3000 vehicles a month and also spearhead a new start-up division of a Car Buying Service - to set up and run up to 50Class 2 Vehicles.

Job Description:


You will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide strong inspirational leadership to the operational team at their designated sites which cover the UK within 100 miles of Maidstone) as well as playing a key role in the site's vision in the improvement and retaining high levels of engagement.
  • Lead the transport operations in line with appropriate legislation including H&S, maintenance, standard operating procedures, working time directive and 'O' Licence requirements
  • Planning and delivery of operational transport activities through your Transport Teams, to ensure a high level of service is provided to all the Retail and Service sites.
  • Ensure adequate cover is provided to make sure that a good stock of Vehicles is at all the Retail Sites(6 Sites) for Customers to View and Buy
  • Ensures that Health Safety standards and training are maintained and adhered to
  • Accountability for overall productivity within the operation, ensuring that activities are costeffective, and levels of resources are managed effectively. Budgetary responsibility for the sites, ensuring costs are managed in line with P&L expectations.
  • Maintain communications and personal contact with staff, as appropriate, to ensure the effectiveness of operations support.
The Successful Applicant

  • Fleet Maintenance experience
  • Previous experience in operational improvement projects with a focus on improving metrics of H&S, staff turnover and Transport compliance
  • Microsoft Office skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and statistical tools.
  • Financial and commercial acumen, proven experience managing a P&L.
Salary £40-45,000 Dependant on Experience.
