What will you be doing?

  • Acting under the direction of the STL, ensure safe and efficient operation of a wastefired highpressure boiler and generator, together with associated auxiliary plant including firstline fault diagnosis
  • Assist the STL with the operation and monitoring of the plant from a Central Control Room by means of a computerised control system
  • Assist in ensuring day to day compliance with all aspects of the Environmental Permit, reporting any noncompliance or incident to the Shift Team Leader
  • Carry out routine plant inspections and adjustments / operations as required collecting and recording plant data
  • Operate plant and equipment as required by the operational demands of the ERF, including mobile plant and refuse crane
  • Monitor stocks and take receipt of consumables / collection of residues
  • Work within all Safety Rules, Health and Safety Policies and Site Procedures

What are we looking for?

  • Appropriate qualifications for the duties of the post
  • Able to operate, or train to operate a variety of mobile equipment and fixed plant
  • Able to work a continuous rotating shift pattern, including adequate voluntary overtime to cover the workload and colleagues' absences
  • Experience gained through working in a continuous process environment, preferably with experience of working shifts
  • Interested in mechanical & electrical plant with some experience of plant operations, ideally with experience in an Engineering role
  • Selfmotivated, able to prioritise tasks and work with mínimal supervision.
  • Flexible, with a creative approach to problemsolving
