Role Objective:

Help your client grow their business by partnering with them to draw compelling insights from Nielsen data. The Advanced Analytics Consultant will be curious, self-motivated and have a creative touch.

Leverage statistical analysis to understand past trends and predict the future effect of marketing tactics on sales.

You will create concise and compelling presentations about brand, market, industry and category trends in response to your client's business needs.

You will work with a cross functional range of stakeholders to help our clients make smarter decisions when investing their marketing budget and ensure that the client is achieving maximum benefit from their Nielsen investment.


The Advanced Analytics Consultant will partner with modelling teams to develop econometric models that incorporate numerous factors impacting sales performance (pricing, promotions and competitive activities) to help isolate what's really driving consumers' purchase decisions and identify the most effective strategies to achieve client's profitability objectives.


Presenting often to senior client stakeholders, this role provides a platform to influence client strategy at the highest levels and demands strong commercial and analytical capability.


Accountabilities:


Understanding Client Business and their Needs:

  • Have a strong working knowledge of the client business priorities and the role we can play in supporting these goals (eg. participating in business cycles such as brand planning & range reviews etc.)
  • Build qualitative PnP (Price and Promotion) projects following client briefing and needs
  • Devise strategies for Nielsen to support overall client objectives, including introducing specialist teams
  • Understand the impact we can have on personal objectives of individuals at our clients

Earning Client Trust and Building Relationships:

  • Drive client satisfaction through the development of long lasting client relationships
  • First point of contact for the client relationship, accountable for managing expectations with regard to analytical deliverables on both a day to day and more strategic basis.
  • Ability to drive added value to the client directly through onsite presence where applicable

Delivering Insight:


  • Become a category and PnP expert
  • Build analyticallystrong, storydriven visual presentations that clearly show how the client can grow
  • Make recommendations on the basis of rigorous analysis leveraging multiple data sources, sound business understanding and commercial awareness
  • Support our clients in their strategy planning via strategic analysis and simulator tools
  • Be prepared to challenge client hypothesis and bring a new perspective
  • Be curious and engage with the client industry, their categories and key market trends

Thought-Leadership:


  • Leverage existing thought leadership with clients ensuring it is made relevant to their business
  • Proactively develop thought leadership to be shared both internally and externally with a view to addressing client business issues and promoting new thinking

Workload Management and Prioritisation:


  • Manage workload independently and effectively prioritise client commitments alongside internal commitments
  • Maintain a clear communication pathway with the key stakeholders

Role Requirements:

  • Exceptionally strong analysis, insight generation and visualization skills, focusing on statistics, economics, and marketing research as an advantage
  • Understand PnP solutions, business issues, research methods, analysis and techniques
  • Analysis of model outputs to deliver consultative recommendations
  • Knowledge of statistical methods
  • Excellent project management
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time

  • Ability to articulate technical information in a simple, impactful way
  • Ability to operate and influence across various levels and stakeholders in the organization
  • BA/BS required or equivalent business experience
  • 2+ years research related roles with focus on marketing analytics and modelling
  • Previous experience in the FMCG sector, preferably within brand, category management, trade marketing, consumer insights or revenue management
