Description

This long-established Construction Contractor undertakes a range of work for the Highways Agency, Network Rail, Utilities companies & Local Authorities.

Packages of works include M&E Maintenance, New Build Construction, Civil Engineering & Groundworks.
Projects range in value from £50k up to £10 million.


As a result of an increased pipeline of work they are looking to enhance their delivery team with a Junior Site Manager.


As a Junior Site Manager you will be reporting to a Project Manager, acting as his deputy on each site as and when required.

Often the face of the company on site your responsibilities will include and not be limited to the following:

  • Help to drive the progression of the project program, ensuring that each project milestone is delivered safely to time and budget.
  • Ensure that the project requirements, specifications, design drawings, health and safety proposals are all read, understood and agreed
  • Update the project program as each milestone is achieved
  • Maintain a site diary
  • Assist in the preparation of Health and Safety Plans, Quality Plans and Method Statements.
  • Prepare a resource plan with the Project Manager
  • Supervise sitebased activities, overseeing all aspects of work.
  • Check that all materials used, including those used by subcontractors, are compliant with technical and quality specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with client specifications, method statements, industry standards and legislation on site.
  • Maintain a snagging list and ensure all snags are closed out in a timely manner.
  • Report of weekly progress against program.
  • Interface with external clients


The role would suit an experienced Site Supervisor who would like to make the step up to Site Manager or a Graduate Engineer with 12 months site-based experience.


  • Experience of supervising engineers and subcontractors on nonresidential new build and refurbishment projects.
  • Good management skills, with the ability to motivate employees and suppliers to achieve high standards of compliance
  • Good eye for a quality finish across all trades.
  • Selfdriven and resultsoriented individual with a positive outlook
  • Strong IT skills and ability to use Microsoft packages with good report writing skills
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills with ability to digest information and instructions from clients
