Do you want to use your Sporting and mentoring expertise to help young people fulfil their potential? We are looking for someone who is as passionate about sports coaching as they are about mentoring and developing young people.

We are currently delivering a year round project in schools & holiday camps and need sports coaches to join our team.


Our Mission


The Peace Ballers project uses immersive diversionary activities including (sport, art & film) as powerful engagement tools to engage, build trust with young people, and provide much needed mental health support through context specific life coaching and 1-1 mentoring.

We integrate the key life lessons we teach within the art forms the young people engage with, to dramatically increase effectiveness.


Originally piloted in partnership with the Mayor of London's Sport Unites initiative in an effort to tackle youth violence across the capital, Peace Ballers is now a multi-award winning organisation that has transformed the lives of hundreds of young people.

We are currently expanding our team as we launch projects in more London boroughs to scale our impact.


Duties & Responsibilities
Sport, alongside creative arts and mentoring, is at the heart of Peace Ballers enrichment offering to young people.

The sports offer at Peace Ballers is an exciting and engaging programme challenging, stimulating, fun, engaging and developmental sporting activities specialising in Ball games.

You will be involved in teaching the fundamentals of a single sport, or range of sports activities to young people, as well as facilitating competitions and challenges which build young people's physical, technical, social and psychological, skills, and fitness levels.

Alongside this you will also facilitate one to one mentoring sessions with young people to help them set goals and improve their mental health and well being.

You will be involved in session delivery, planning, preparation, and work with young people closely. You will be provided all the necessary equipment and training and will be afforded plentiful personal development opportunities.


You will be someone with a hands on approach, focused, eager to learn and willing to go the extra mile, all for the benefit of supporting young people.

You will demonstrate our values through all you do and will commit to giving your best every session for young people.

Person Specification

Qualifications
Ideally, you will have experience, or one or more specific coaching qualifications, from a National Governing Body.


Experience

Face to face activity delivery, working with young people both in groups and individually

Experience of supporting young people who are disaffected, underachieving and / or have social / emotional barriers to participation
