Sana (14) is a delightful young lady who enjoys watching YouTube videos and educational programmes; Listening to 'The Quran' and 'Nasheeds' (Islamic songs) are favouritesSana also loves swimming.
As you canimagine this is a busy, fun home Sana has cerebral palsy and epilepsy, she is visually impaired, non-verbal and her medication, fluids and nutrition are given via gastrostomy.
Sana can make her feelings known however, it is essential you are confident incommunicating with a non-verbal child. She is developing her communication skills using an Eye Gaze device.She is dependent on others for all her daily needs; however, this does not hold her back She enjoys spending time out of her wheelchair, doing herphysio exercises, standing, and walking with support, amongst other things.
For Sana to continue the benefits of exercise, being fit and happy to get down on the floor is a mustOverview of role:
This is a very active role; Sana follows a home-schooling program that includes implementing physical intervention and support with communication.
As her Support Worker, you will help Sana to access learning plans, and you will deliver and explore new therapiesin a fun and creative way.
This position also involves personal care (bathing and toileting), manual handling, cooking, and preparing Sana's blended diet, as well as administering medication and feeds via gastrostomy.
You'll keep Sana's areas tidy and doingher laundry. £15.00 to £16.00 gross per hour depending on experience. The family are looking for support Monday to Friday between 7.00am and 9.00pm.This is a job share role and the family are flexible on how the hours/days are broken down, for example shortshifts 7.00am to 3.00pm or 4.00pm to 9.00pm, or 2 or 3 long shifts 7.00am to 9.00pm.
