QA Technician - Food Manufacturing

Monday - Thursday , Friday

Salary £29,012 (salary breakdown £25,789 plus 12.5% shift allowance £

Babynov UK is a well-established food manufacturing company based in Chichester.

We are looking for a QA Technician with a positive can-do approach, a motivated and enthusiastic person, who can work as part of a team, accurately and at speed in a busy environment.

Job Purpose:

Responsible for assuring the quality and compliance of finished products, raw materials and packaging used at site through ensuring the controls plans, testing schedules and quality assurance procedures in place are implemented effectively.

Principal Accountabilities:

Quality Assurance in a food manufacturing environment:

Finished product testing and assessment, including sensory evaluation
Administration of testing records
Oversight of the production environment and supporting production equipment such as complex foreign body detection equipment and packaging verification systems
Conducting GMP inspections and internal audits
Support for thirdparty analysis where required
Analytical results administration and followup
Management of nonconformances from leading the initial investigation through to resolution with the suppliers

Raw Material Administration

SAP management of raw materials intake, release, quarantine, return
Administration of material specifications and certificates of analysis

Quality Culture

Driving site GMP and hygiene standards in all areas
Overseeing operational usage of all materials in order to understand areas of risk in relation to food safety, quality and integrity

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:

Food manufacturing or similar industry experience
Educated to GCSE or higher with minimum Grade C in Math and English
Good MS Office skills, good aptitude for IT systems
Food Hygiene Level 2 Qualification
Good sense of taste and smell

Desirable:

Knowledge of manufacture of heatpreserved ambient foods, chilled foods, frozen foods
Experience with multiple packaging formats
Wide range of ingredient experience
Experience of SAP or similar inventory software
Internal audit experience
FLT qualification

Up to £29,012.00 per year
