The Opportunity


We're looking for a Head of Facilities to lead the maintenance and management of all buildings and facilities services and take responsibility for health and safety and security within our historic RSA House.


The House comprises 8 floors including Grade I and II listed spaces with 3 office floors, large public spaces and venue hire for up to 500 visitors and guests.

We have a Coffee House, cinema and many historical rooms including 'The Great Room' displaying James Barry's murals 'The Progress of Hunan Knowledge and Culture'.

RSA House is open to our 31,000 Fellows (members), wedding guests, conferences, meeting and party attendees, filming, product launches and publicity events and the general public.


Key areas of focus will be:

  • Direct, plan and ensure the successful implementation of all maintenance works for RSA House both internally and externally including the structural aspects of the building, all services including electrical works and all fixtures and fittings.
  • Lead the facilities team to ensure a secure 24/7 facilities service is available for RSA House to service our wideranging activities including those of our catering and hospitality partners.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, buildings, equality, sustainability, environmental and other relevant legislation to ensure our building is safe, compliant, and run inline with the latest bestpractice and in service of the diverse groups we engage with.
  • Efficiently manage the sizeable facilities budget including operational and Capital Expenditure.
  • Maintain a continual focus on sustainability to ensure all facilities work is undertaken with the RSA's regenerative mission front and centre focussing on the green agenda.
This role is based on-site at RSA House in London.


About You

  • Extensive facilities management background including managing others to deliver a fulsome buildings service.
  • Experience in developing and managing sizeable facilities budgets including a deep understanding of costs involved to successfully run a large building Experience of negotiating with and the supervision of external suppliers and contractors.
  • Expert knowledge of health and safety legislation, building regulations and other relevant legislation and bestpractice guidance.
  • An interest in improving the regenerative potential of a building and the services it provides in line with the RSA's mission.

Salary:
£50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
