Job Summary

Avantor is looking for Logistics & Lab Operative, to join the business on a full-time, permanent basis, at our customer site - UCB in Slough.

Your daytoday time will be divided between warehouse and laboratory, however majority of your time you will spend in warehouse, supporting scientist, across UCB Discovery Biology Department.

Working hours: Monday

Friday: Core hours
Primary Location: Slough, UK
What we're looking for?
High school or equivalent
Previous experience working in a warehouse/cleanroom environment and knowledge of SHE regulations is highly desirable
Good IT skills required (including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook)

Are you a "gogetter" who enjoys manual work and already has some experience in laboratory?
Do you already live in the Slough or can easily commute into the city
Do you have a driving license and own a vehicle
Are you comfortable working in customercentric environments

Receiving stock deliveries, ensuring storage in accurate locations and accurate temperatures
Shipping of finished goods out to the end user, ensuring that the correct shipping documentation is included with consignments to adhoc countries
Supervising stock consumptions metrics, then ordering and replenishing stock base on demand, using a SAPbased system
Preparations of media and standard reagents as required and maintain stocks of both sterile and nonsterile consumable items within the laboratories.
Assist the scientific personnel, carry out routine cleaning and performance checking of equipment (pH meters and balances) keeping accurate results of work.
To protect the integrity of research activities, regularly check chemical and reagent expiry dates and arrange disposal of any outofdate material via the correct waste disposal route.
