They are looking for a standalone payroll specialist to be responsible for paying all group employees across 4 UK sites operating under separate terms, so attention to detail and the ability to recognise errors is imperative.

You will report directly tothe Financial Accountant, who will have overall responsibility for payroll.

Full end-to-end payroll experience is essential. The ability to manually calculate tax, pensions and other deductions when dealing with queries will be extremely advantageous.


How you'll spend your time_:
_


  • Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of both weekly (approximately 1,100 employees) and monthly (approximately 250 employees) payrolls, including:
  • Uploading time and attendance information into the payroll software
  • Calculating basic pay, deductions, overtime, bonuses and allowances
  • Ensuring statutory payments are paid in line with legislation
  • Ensuring overtime and expenses are signed off by the correct level of authorisation before payment
  • Responsible for administering pension contributions and ensuring compliance with automatic enrolment legislation
  • Preparing reports that summarise the earnings and deductions once the employee remuneration has been calculated for use by the Finance team
  • Resolving any payroll discrepancies that are identified
  • Running and sending FPS and EPS to HMRC to comply with reporting requirements
  • Preparing information for the payroll journals to facilitate posting into the accounting system(s)
  • Ensuring thirdparty payments associated with the payroll process (for example, PAYE, NI, pensions) are made timely and accurately
  • Providing guidance and support in the delivery of payrollrelated projects within the business
  • Dealing with other adhoc employee queries
  • Supporting the wider Finance team, providing adhoc cover where appropriate
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of employee data
