Description

Liverpool University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust wishes to appoint a full time Research Fellow in Hepatobiliary Surgery for a 12-month contract which may be extended for 3 years with mutual agreement from August 2023.

The Trust serves a population of approximately one third of a million from North Liverpool, Sefton Borough and Kirkby. All patient services are provided from the Royal site of the Trust. The Trust gained Foundation Trust status in 2006 and is committed to developing services with the involvement of patients.


The person appointed will be based at the Royal site of the Trust and will be a member of the Hepatobiliary and General Surgical Departments, Surgical Specialities.

Applicants are required to be fully registered with the General Medical Council and must have MRCS qualification.

clinical commitments are flexible on an as required basis rather than a fixed clinic or MDT session.

The Appointee's Role

Audit/Clinical Governance

All medical staff are expected to participate in Surgical Audit. There are monthly surgical audit meetings, including monthly audit of morbidity and mortality within the Directorate. The new Appointee will be expected to attend and undertake an audit during tenure of the post.
