Fire Risk Assessor (Passive Fire Protection Division).

If you have a minimum of 1 year's experience in a Risk Assessment role, are great at visiting customer sites to determine their needs, can manage a busy pipeline to complete tasks on time, create follow on opportunities, and can demonstrate excellent writtenand verbal communication skills, all with great attitude then we would like to hear from you.


The role is based in Stevenage, reports to the MD, and is focussed on developing the Passive Fire Protection Division of an already successful company.

Working with a highly qualified team the role will help our customers understand and define their needsand ensure that once converted, these needs are exceeded by our on-site teams.

Role and responsibilities The Fire Risk Assessor is responsible for conducting Fire Risk Assessments and creating appropriate plans. and Fire Exit Strategies (Fire Emergency Evacuation Plans - FEEP's)Receive warm leads, book Surveys where appropriate, conduct surveys on customerpremises and establish all the information needed to create quotations, determine up and cross sell opportunities, manage their part of the sales pipeline, communicate follow up leads and quotations, assist in the development of professional quotations, securecontracts, manage customer expectations, and creating the opportunity to find profitable repeat or follow-on business.

  • Manage their portion of the sales pipeline using a CRM system.
  • Work to a detailed plan of activity and ensure that target dates and times are met.
  • Follow a sales process to identify opportunities.
  • Qualify leads and secure all the information needed to ensure high conversion rates.
  • Arrange, book and conduct on site surveys.
  • Prepare survey documentation and assist in the development of proposals
  • Help to follow up proposals and secure contracts.
  • Identify resources required and define necessary timescales.
  • Support the companies marketing and networking strategy.
  • Support the Social Media efforts of the organisation.

Qualifications and education requirements
The role requires someone with a

A personal listing on a current Fire Safety register (IFE/IFS/PFO/FRACS etc),

NEBOSH Fire Certificate or equivalent,

Experience of carrying out Fire Risk assessments

Knowledge of The Fire Safety Order, Building Regulations & Approved Documents, Relevant British Standards and associate regulations,

Fire Door Inspection qualifications

Knowledge of both active and passive Fire protection systems

A working knowledge of

Health and Safety at Work Act

Preferred skills To perform the role well, the holder will have been in a customer facing role relating to active or passive fire protection assessments for at least 2 years and have a minimum of 2 years experience installing, inspecting or surveying fire doors and FireStopping. Someone with a carpentry or joinery background would also demonstrate these skills.


They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a good understanding of how to up-sell complex multi discipline services.

They will be skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and have a good working knowledge of CRM systems.

They will have worked with a formal Sales process and be able to create and follow complex processes and procedures in order to maintain excellentdocumentation.


They will have a working knowledge of passive fire protection installation and maintenance and will have been involved in defining customer requirements on the customers site, but most importantly they must be capable and willing to learn and adapt as thebusiness grows and changes.


Additional notes The role needs someone who can work well in a team, can motivate, and maintain positive momentum and can manage people both up and down the organisation structure. A self-starter who is happy to work independently and to take on more responsibility as therole develops.
