Description
Dril-Quip are currently recruiting for an Assembly and Test Mechanic at our Stoneywood facility on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Workshop Lead and Aftermarket Operations Supervisor, this role will be responsible for the assembly, testing, and rework of the Dril-Quip product range whilst maintaining a safe working environment and excellent work quality.


The main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assembly and test of subsea trees, surface trees, DQ Rental tools and Wellheads
  • Gas testing
  • Hydro testing
  • Following Company safety policies at all times
  • Ensuring good housekeeping at all times
  • Fluid analysis (hydraulics)
  • Set up and operation of function testing
  • Cleaning, refurbishing and stamping of components appropriately
  • Continually making attempts to improve productivity and work efficiencies using 6S methods
  • Working to COSHH regulations, risk assessments and safe working procedures
  • Responsibility for individual quality of work
  • Ensuring all equipment and tooling is maintained in good working order and faults are immediately reported to the Workshop Lead or Aftermarket Operations Supervisor
  • Ensuring own safety and safety of others in working practices
  • Ensuring lifting equipment is used safely
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues and other departments
  • Ensuring operations on work orders are signed and dated when completed
  • Ensuring supplement sheets are signed and dated where applicable
  • Ensuring pressure test safety checklists are completed prior to any testing operations
  • Completing training and competency modules as part of development to achieve individual and Company objectives
Experience / Skills Required

  • Time served apprenticeship in a mechanical role or considerable experience in a mechanical position
  • Experience in a mechanical & pressure testing role or equivalent
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
  • Health and safety conscious
  • Attention to detail
  • Good problemsolving skills

Experience / Skills Preferred:

  • MEWP
  • Working at height certification
  • Experience in the Manufacturing or Refurbishment industry
  • Competent in all aspects of assembling & pressure testing of wellhead & tree equipment
