Temporary for six months from April 2023

Based at Doe Park Water Activities Centre and Baildon Recreation Centre
Adventure Instructors will lead outdoor and adventurous activities (e.g.

Climbing, Cycling, Canoeing, Sailing, Caving, Walking); delivering excellent Adventure learning and leisure programmes to a wide variety of customers and groups (e.g.

Schools and Colleges, Youth Groups, Leisure Courses).

Deployment of Instructors will depend on their qualifications and experience. This may be remote off-site delivery (locations e.g. Shipley Glen, Yorkshire Dales) as part of the mobile Adventure Development team or at Doe Park Water Activities Centre. Qualifications must include one or more from - Paddlesports Instructor, RYA Dinghy Sailing Instructor, Rock Climbing Instructor/ Climbing Wall Instructor, Mountain Bike Leader, Archery Instructor and other Outdoor Awards


Instructors will have excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of a range of Instructing, Coaching and Leadership techniques and how these are applied in different situations.


Instructors will have a good knowledge and commitment to safety standards and procedures and how safe practice is implemented in the field.

Instructors contribute to the work of the Adventure Development Team e.g. equipment and facility maintenance, programme development, sporting and cultural events and be committed to their own professional development.


The post holders will be required to work flexible hours including extended hours, evenings and weekends in periods of high demand.
