The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub in Devon are recruiting a highly motivated and talented Social Worker with experience in Children's Services to join their team in Exeter.

As a temporary member of staff you will be considered an integral part of this team. Exeter is a picturesque city in Devon. 37 hours a week, 3 month+ contracts on a rate of £44ph. £150 allowance toward accommodation for those staying away from home.


The team operates a county wide multi-agency approach, operating effectively and efficiently to deliver the best possible outcomes for children, young people and families.

You will be required to act quickly, in a coordinated and consistent way. So working well under pressure and to tight deadlines will be an expectation.

You will have the ability to write succinct evidence based reports and present social care information and issues that can impact on the risk or needs assessment of the child/young person.

This may involve disclosing proportionate and relevant information related to the parents/cares or siblings. Although at times this role can be highly demanding, it is an office based role with mínimal travel.

This is a fantastic opportunity, especially for somebody who would like to step away from a case holding team and community visits.


  • Assessment team responding to all initial contacts made to the Safeguarding & Family Support Service
  • Generic Safeguarding Team provides a range of services for Child Protection and Family Support Services and including children who are looked after


The social work role in the MASH requires good IT and interpersonal skills and the ability to make sound risk assessments at the point of referral to children's social care.

It would be helpful, although not essential, to have an understanding and working knowledge of Care First 6.

You will be Social Work England registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK
