Prime Appointments is actively recruiting a Factory Operative for a position within a reputable and versatile manufacturing firm based in the Colchester, Essex region.

The Factory Operative will perform a range of tasks spanning machine operation, supporting skilled operators, and assisting warehouse operations. This role ensures diverse responsibilities, continual training, and prospects for advancement within the broader scope of the business.


Duties of the Factory Operative will include:

  • Basic machine operating
  • Assisting skilled machinists
  • Retrieving stock for manufacture
  • Operating of Bench Saws
  • Moving components around the factory
  • Stacking work in progress ready for the next stage
  • Loading stock into storage
  • Helping in other areas as required

The Ideal Factory Operative:


  • Previous experience in manufacturing and production would be an advantage
  • Looking for a longterm role

Pay & Hours:


  • 07:30 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday
  • Early Finish on Friday's
  • 20 days Holiday plus Bank rising to 22 days once permanent
- £10.42 p/hour, rising after the probation period
