This role has a starting salary of £46,634 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

About the Service


Adoption South East (ASE) launched in 2020, as the Regional Adoption Agency for the Surrey, West Sussex, East Sussex and Brighton.

We provide a comprehensive adoption service on behalf of these authorities to children and adults living in this region.

Allour staff are employed by one of the partner authorities under local terms and conditions, and this post (which is based in Woking) is offered on Surrey County Council terms and conditions.


About the Role


As the family finding lead for our Woking office, you would liase with front line child-care teams to discuss children with adoption plans, ensuring a timely and effective family finding service.

ASE family finders meet weekly to review and link childrenwith adoptive families.

You will need to be confident in assessing children's needs, be familiar with adoption legislation and processes and in managing data.

You would also manage a group of social workers who undertake family finding, adopter assessments and adoption support assessments.

You would be expected to work in an agile manner -supported by office facilities when you need them but with flexibility towork from home for a significant part of your working week.


About You
To be considered for shortlisting for interview your CV and personal statement will evidence:

  • A Social work qualification, and registration with Social Work England with minimum of 5 years post qualification
  • Experience of/ potential to provide supervision with a commitment to continuous personal development
  • Specific knowledge of adoption regulations, statutory guidance and national minimum standards alongside knowledge of current social work practice and legislation, including safeguarding
  • Ability to manage data to monitor progress against desired outcomes with excellent ICT skills including proficiency in use of MS Teams

You hold a full UK driving licence
A satisfactory enhanced DBS check would also be required as a condition of employment.
