We are currently looking for a capable, hands on Plant nursery assistant who is passionate about horticulture with a knowledge of plants, in conjunction with good customer skills.

Working 2 days per week
- Plant management and maintenance as directed, will include watering and weeding.
- Ensuring that plants are well presented and well maintained.
- Assisting the Nursery Manager with all general maintenance.
- Delivering excellent customer service to customers. This includes greeting customers, providing advice and ensuring that all customer queries are dealt with in a timely manner and, importantly, converting the enquiry to a sale.
- Assisting with incoming deliveries and merchandising stock in the Plant Area.
- Providing support to other areas of the business as requested.
Skills/Experience required for the role:
- Good knowledge of plants.
- Previous retail and sales experience preferably with plants.
- Must be fit and capable of manual work as the role will involve bending and lifting.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to quickly build a good rapport with customers, colleagues and suppliers.
- Able to work on own initiative.
- Happy to do a role which will involve outside work all year round in all weathers.
