Our company produce handwoven fabric as well as clothing and accessories, mostly all hand made and hand sewn.We are looking for an experienced handweaver to weave on a wooden treadle production floor loom.
The weaver will need to be able to create neat fabric, both following techs and directions from the designer.
Responsibilities:
- Operate weaving machines to create woven fabrics
- Monitor fabric to detect weaving defects and ensure quality production
- Perform routine maintenance on weaving equipment
- Inspect woven fabrics for quality and consistency
- Coordinate with director and team member to meet production goals
Experience:
- Mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain weaving machinery
- Ability to dress the loom, sectional warp winding and prepare bobbins for both warp and weft operations
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
