Head of Finance / Financial Controller | North East Derbyshire | £60,000 + suite of benefits

The Opportunity

You'll be number one in finance for an interesting and diverse £15m turnover not-for-profit group - reporting directly into the board / trustees.

It's a vital role, responsible for all of the day to day financial control and reporting within an organisation that genuinely changes people's lives for the better.

So, yes, this role is about sensible financial decision making, commercially-minded financial strategy, improving risk awareness, ensuring robust financial controlbut it's also about maximising the impact that the group can have on the people that need it most.

You're a versatile qualified finance professional with a hands on approach.

Someone who can confidently and diligently lead the small finance team in a relatively complex group with multiple revenue streams and operating models.

You'll be confident rolling up your sleeves and producing credible management accounts but equally confident presenting to the board and providing financial guidance across the business.

Ultimately you are a vital sounding board to the MD / Trustee network.

It's a hugely rewarding role for the right person.

You need to have high integrity, commercial awareness, solid technical accounting skillsyou also need to be someone who loves an SME where you are close to the action and close to the numbers.

You need:

Previous experience of managing the finance function of a reasonably complex SME of £10m+ turnover.
Appetite to work in a nonprofit arena where the is a real appetite to run the 'business' in a commercial and modern manner.
ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualification.
To be someone comfortable getting stuck into the numbers drilling down into transactions where necessary.
To be a proactive and forwardthinking accountant who will streamline processes and strive for efficiencies.
Previous experience of an environment where funding comes from local authority might be useful but not prerequisite.
