Salary£31,886 - £37,513depending on experience

As a Lead Technician you'll undertake day to day Mechanical & Calibration activities such as, welding, fitting, decommissioning, PAT testing, Tooling checks, pressure assurance checks, annual gas detection Maintenance.

You'll be registered under SCO as aCompetent Person and be able to update risk assessments and review method statements.

The Lead Technician will develop the team within Mechanical / Calibration on development of on the job experience.

You'll ensure permit / CP / AE requirements are supported and ensure activities are in full compliance with safe Control of Operations proceduresand CDM requirements, Sharing, promoting and facilitate/implement technical and procedural best practise.


Other accountabilities include:

  • Represent the department on projects / initiatives
  • Actively promote and assume the face of Cadent when responding to complaints and enquiries where required, creating a customer focused environment.
  • Responsible for a working environment which ensures the achievement of all safety and environmental legislation, engineering and customer standards.
  • Lead on technical support to ensure the safe, efficient and costeffective development and maintenance of the gas network
  • You will mentor technicians to gain on job experience
  • Responsible for leading improvement plans for area
  • Provide regular updates to KPI's and weekly reporting
  • Ensure data capture and reporting is completed and up to date.
  • Ensure workplace standards are upheld and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate compliance with the required standards/company procedures.
  • Be responsible for ensuring data recording and accuracy within the relevant network is appropriate and complete to support accurate management and regulatory reporting.
  • You will be accountable for raising and fulfilling orders and PO's
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and manage local communications
  • Ensure all activities are compliant with Cyber policy & procedures
  • Contribute towards the Future Energy journey for Energy Operations

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering NVQ or relevant qualification
  • CP/ AE for Lifting, Hot works


  • SCO 1&

  • City & Guilds 2377 or TEM 6 for nonelectrical personal. The Operative must be qualified to City & Guilds 2377 or TEM 6 for nonelectrical personal.
  • Qualified to T/PS/P2 and T/PS/P9
